'Labour's Sir Keir Starmer proposes a "partnership model" which see the state working with private businesses to address the ongoing crisis in the NHS'.

It's 'reform' apparently. Alternatively, it sounds like more of the same. Who knows? Anyone got a suggestion about how we might get out of this?

I don't have a solution, sadly.

However, I think it may help if we stopped this "best healthcare system in the world" rubbish, and, accepted that we need to look at how it works (or doesn't work, as the case may be). Perhaps, we could even learn from how other Countries (not America) do it?

Having lived through what I would guess was "peak Nationalisation" (ie 1947 - 1980's), I think we need to accept that is not how to do it, but, again, perhaps, we could learn a thing or two from other Countries, who, it would appear, manage to have State. Industries which actually function.

Based on the quality of our Politicians (of all parties), in my lifetime, I cannot help but feel that we need to keep them well away from any role in actually running anything.

Now bearing in mind that Labour won't commit to backing striking workers or ending austerity.Have tried there upmost to alienate the left of the party.Wont be spending any more money, more looking to the private sector by the look of it.Neo-liberalism has been such a success we need some more of it.Other than not being quite as bad....
Tell me what's to get excited about ?

Nothing except that it won't involve:
  • Priti Nazi Patel
  • Mad Nad Dorries
  • Boris Johnson
  • Dom Raab
  • Matt Gropester Hancock
  • Pinchy Pincher
  • Dishi Rishi
  • Therese 60 a day Coffey
  • Jacob Mystic-Rees-Mogg
  • etc
Any government not involving the above is going to be better than one that does involve the above, as it is not possible to do any worse.

I think you are proving my point, we (the great British Public) are willing to believe any old crap where the NHS is involved.

I don't understand what this means. Do you think the survey respondents said they were satisfied but were actually unhappy?

Everyone thought that Johnson's successor couldn't be worse than him.

Sir Keir Starmer has promised a new "take back control" bill.

Ok, let's not get too excited (I'm nearer despair than excitement), but unless you're out selling papers (do they still do that?) and believe that another turn of the screw takes us a step closer to the revolution, what's the alternative?

I doubt there is one...but having this as the only alternative to the Tories is fecking depressing.

Oh well, maybe focus on other things to lift your spirits maybe?

Have you anything planned for the Summer?
