Aren't there any marginal or near marginal Labour seats then?
Of course. They are usually marginal with the Conservatives. There are some rare exceptions such as Brighton, but without PR it's usually a choice between two parties. Red and Blue or Red and Yellow (unless you are Welsh or Scottish).

You really think that Starmer has based his decision on a 3 year old poll from a Tory led polling agency?

On his assessment of the calibre of flaglicking meatheads he wants to appeal to? Absolutely.

That's nonsense. But, I think for the next election we need to be looking at "who can win in this seat". In my borough I will be voting Lib Dem as they are the only party that can unseat Raab. Policies are irrelevant.

Until we get PR, voting is about whether or not you want a Conservative MP in your area. It's useless to pretend otherwise. I could vote Green but that would be the same as not bothering.
Nonsense ? You do realize it's my vote don't you...it's not Tory v Labour for me, where the only outcome is "winning" Oddly enough nobody seems to know what the prize is.
Streeting takes some beating for the most obnoxious little twat currently.

Sorry - that came across wrong. I meant the notion that if you don't vote for x you are a Tory is nonsense and that I agree with you.

Sadly the process is flawed in that you only get a real world binary choice in 99% of seats.

Wes were not a party of protest Streeting feeling threatened by Bernie Sanders in the same way he is threatened by Jeremy Corbyn... they're shoot scared of anything remotely 'left'.
Shameless grifter.

Scared in so far as it means electoral oblivion, yes.

And therefore another 5 years of Tory.
Sanders defending the NHS and Streeting attacking him lol If that doesn't tell you everything you need to know about the people currently running the Labour party, I dont know what will.

So are we saying that the Tories were what we would now consider left wing, prior to the 1970s?

That guy's view is in itself an anachronism because he fails to consider the political context of 1960. The country was only 15 years away from the end of WW2, which had seen the Tories (and Churchill) ejected and a realisation that the working class had fought a war and paid a price in blood on behalf of the ruling class and needed placating, lest they become restive.

There is no doubt that they Tories have recently lurched to the right. They lurched even further withTruss and er weird Maoist approach to policy. But are they more radical than the Thatcher governments? I think not.
