Are you aware of the petition to add him to the final ballot for Tory leader? Last time I looked, a few days ago, it was over 10k votes.

Doesnt need to be over 100k just to be discussed in parliment???

Yeabut, this is Tory internal stuff. Nothing to do with us oiks.

I think the General election voters in 2024 would have something to say, if the tories allowed him to back track on his resignation.

Starmer is rebuilding the Labour Party from a historic low.
He isn’t going to set the world on fire but he needs to appeal to the widest demographic possible, which includes floating voters and disillusioned Tory voters, not just the Labour hardcore.
Politics isn’t ever going to be perfect. And a Labour leader that appeals 100% to you would never gain the majority support of the country. They tried that last time and it failed hugely.
Do I like his stance on pickets? No I don’t.
Do I understand it? Yes I do.

Welcome yourself into the new modern crisis
If I were the new Tory leader and the Labour party straight away decided to have a leadership battle of their own, I might be inclined to take a punt on calling a general election.
