It's a cool idea, but the cost is prohibitively massive. And the amount of engineering required to get it into any kind of workable resource is questionable.

Just stick some panels on the sunflowers.
Although sometimes they *don't* track the sun as too much sun can reduce efficiency - sometimes even a solar panel needs a bit of relief!They tend to be used in sunnier countries. There are single axis and dual axis ones.
