Pontevedra is a relatively small town, same size as Worcester, I would say, which had been in decline for a while. The process started in 1999, and it is still ongoing. It had a lot of opposition from the usual suspects, but it changed the direction of the town, and the objectors became quieter as the benefits of the changes became more visible.

I know one, a very fine jazz drummer. Before I knew what it was about, he was extolling it and how side-splittingly funny it was. So I watched about five minutes of one before thinking "WTAF?!", and deciding that his skill at drumming was far greater than his taste in humour.
