Dear Mr Infantino,
I don't see how one stadium having a match should materially affect hotel bookings in a big city. It's different from the Olympics where there are a lot more seats and venues. Also, when the Olympics is on, most countries suffer from a lack of bookings in the rest of the country, so overall they lose tourists. The main advantage is it markets the country for the future.
Yours sincerely,

There is no easy solution here. The punishment seems fair to me, you just have to ingore the significance of the fans and treat it like any other match. No one would care if it was the 3rd round of the league cup that they were banned from.

This video just about sums the whole thing up for me. Totally pointless, and they have been punished for being stupid.
As i understand this isn't the first time they do this either, so totally justified. Fans should demand money back from the club.
Trump can’t even blame anyone else for this, as it was awarded in 2018 when he was president. So if it’s a shambles, it’s on him.
And I hope it’s a total flop.
FIFA and US companies have lost the plot on pricing.
No one has £10k to blow on a trip to the World Cup.
You think Trump needs facts/ good attendance etc. to claim something is a great succes? He was so bankrupt he needed to rent his hotels and still(tried to) sold it as a great move

Are you new at FIFA?

Things really start to be stacking up to make at least the US part of the World Cup a massive flop. It's all over the 'quality' news outlets.
I hope Canada and Mexico have a great event.

Constantly hearing the Championship Playoff described as ‘the richest game in football’ sums up all that is wrong in the top levels of the sport to me.

I used to think the Sky bubble would eventually burst, but I think it's too far gone now.

Depends how you define 'big city'.
75,000 descending on Cardiff for a 6 Nations match or final bumps up hotel prices.
In fact, I'd say that is the case for almost all European cities outside the very biggest such as London or Paris.

Most of the US cities that are hosting games are much bigger than Cardiff. Plus "bumps up" seems like a reasonable expectation whereas extortion of the century doesn't.
