Might seem like a trivial thing, but this really annoys me.

There's no reason Ghana couldn't wear their home kit against Panama, who could wear either their home or third kit without issue, for example.

People will buy slightly more of the ones in the matches they are worn in when the team wins. The players are just advertising hoardings. There will contractual terms with the kit manufacturers requiring the kits to be worn in a given number of games, regardless of whether the home kits clash or not.
