I took from newfhouse's post that one group of asylum seekers were being treated differently to another wrt to language skills.

I am not sure that wives from Mexico or Germany can be classed as asylum seekers.

Fair enough. Other countries are avaliable, as implied by etc etc in my original comment

It's a shame you can't read English yourself.

Show us where any person on here said

"They all speak English"

Since we are being literal, could you clarify what is meant by "on here", do you mean in any of the threads where asylum/migrants have been discussed/mentioned or, do you literally mean those exact words, in that order, on this thread?

Yes, me too, that is why I asked the question. According to another poster (@glasgowcyclist ) I think, that is not so. I have no idea what his qualifications are to answer that, anymore than I know what anyone else's expertise is.

And what’s your opinion about how fair that treatment is, with respect to Afghan women?

Well, if everyone is being treated the same, in respect of language skills, which I think, you said was the case, then, I think that is fair. However, in the case of Afghan wives (which was the original subject), it may not be appropriate in certain cases, and, perhaps, in those cases a more understanding approach would be appropriate.

I was echoing Shep's 'on here' which usually means on this whole forum.

(A bit like his 'you lot' which I take to mean anyone on this forum)

Either those precise words in that order, or else their implication.

Said by anyone 'on here'

I'm asking to be shown where anyone here has ever said "They all speak English".

You clearly approved his point, so perhaps you'd like to back it up with some evidence if he can't.

I won't hold my breath

Given the serious dangers faced by Afghan wives of British men, it would be appropriate in every case to expedite their entry to the UK.

True, so, does that mean, no more questions on here (from anyone) ?

Do you ever do your own research in relation to the topics on this forum?

You asked a question about the comparison of treatment of foreign wives wishing to join their husbands in the UK. I saw the question and, not knowing the answer myself, googled it with an appropriate search string. The first answer offered was the relevant section within the UK Gov’s website. It took me less time to find than it has to type this paragraph.
