Personally, I would have to say “no”. It may be tempting, but, resorting to such tactics makes you no better than the “evil” you think you are eradicating. IMHO, of course

And yet, countries like the US and Israel use political assassination fairly frequently.

So to protect democracy, its appropriate to attempt to execute a candidate standing in a democratic election.

Not appropriate yet it is easy to see why it happens. Many here likely think Trump will win and emulate those he admires, or at least attempt to.

Anyway, Trump created the environment that brought this attack.
And what were his first words after being hit?
"Fight!"
Yep and Republicans are already deflecting saying it was the Democrats and Joe Biden spreading fear about what Trump could do as President thanks to the Supreme Court that precipitated the attack.

Of course, it somewhat misses the point that we don't know why this boy decided to shoot Trump. The vast majority of assassinations of Presidents and others have proven to be somewhat non-political. Hinkley attempted it to prove his love for Jodie Foster, Zangara because of his stomach pains, Schrank had visions from God.

Going out on a limb here, but it maybe that there is some sort of connection between mental illness and access to heavy weaponry which makes this sort of thing more common in the USA.

So khow many of the 35,000 Trump false/misleading claims were real. (To 2021 only)
So what percentage of Trump claims are not misleading?

This event was fueled by the Republican lifting of the AR gun ban, just like most US massacres.
I noticed Orbán had a meeting with Trump a few days ago, just after his meeting with Putin.
Makes one wonder if that had an impact too.
