I’m fairly sanguine about it. What can we do anyway? It isn’t our country or our choice.
The pressure now falls on an old man to deliver all the promises he made.

Well the USA is almost certainly f*cked, but you could say that's down to them.
Palestine? Ukraine? Add to the list as many countries as you want.
Sir Keith will be along soon enough to talk about our 'special relationship', but there's one or two powerful 'tough guy' leaders out there who'll be way ahead in Donald's special list.
It's hard to see any positive in this for Americans or any of us

BBC are saying he has won the popular vote too. Which he didn’t do last time.
Quite how over 50% of Americans can vote for him is beyond me, but you can’t complain if he wins with a majority.

Well one positive is that the Americans democracy works and they have got the president they voted for.

Whether we like it or not is irrelevant unless you are an American

Democracy is the people of a country choosing its own president irrespective of whsat outsiders think.
That is I think a huge positive for any county. I am sure many people around the world are envious of a democracy irrespective of who won

It gives me no pleasure to say I was right. And I am calling it now, Badenoch will make some sort of pact with reform and will end up with the same level of majority that labour have now after the next general election.

Change US for Germany, and the date for early 1930s and see how that reads, but yeah, peace in our time.

Even when the peoples' choice has been made upon the basis of brainwashing, hatred and outright lies...?

In a time of already worsening global stability, this result has enormous implications for the future of the entire human race.

A damning reflection of the state of the collective American psyche and a dark, dark day indeed for everyone.

"democracy is the worst form of government – except for all the others that have been tried."
... as a fatter man than I once said.

Would you prefer the opposite and people not be given the choice to vote for their leader?

Or alternatively the only electioneering is that which meets your approval?
Both those options sound like dictatorship situations to me and personally I would prefer a democracy.

Out right lies? A bit like Labour claiming they would not increase taxes? Should we scrap the July election result because of those lies- or are they lies that meet with your approval?

Democracy is better than the alternatives, even if it is not perfect
