One of the things which concerns me, is, if Russia implodes (and, I dont disagree with your reasoning) what will they be left with, yet another "failed state" the size of Russia is not a pleasant prospect IMHO.

We do not know how oppressed/supressed the population is. You never know, there could be a significant body of people that might actually want a democracy.
There is no voice for the anti-state - it has been quashed. A chaotic Kremlin might open the door to moderates. It has a population of 143m and I bet the power is in the hands of a tiny percentage of that.
Plus - they will have a significant veteran population.

Not sure if that is supposed to reassure me? It doesn’t. 😊

I suspect that significant veteran population is pining for the USSR.

A couple more refineries attacked.

I understand gasoline exports have been stopped until the end of September and shortages are now beginning to bite on the Russian public. Unfortunately, Russia also had a massive over supply of diesel and this doesn't seem to be affected yet.

There are reports of a rise in Russian saboteurs:. There are numerous media outlets reporting on internal sabotage but details are hard to get hold of though the number of reports keeps increasing.
