One of the things which concerns me, is, if Russia implodes (and, I dont disagree with your reasoning) what will they be left with, yet another "failed state" the size of Russia is not a pleasant prospect IMHO.

We do not know how oppressed/supressed the population is. You never know, there could be a significant body of people that might actually want a democracy.
There is no voice for the anti-state - it has been quashed. A chaotic Kremlin might open the door to moderates. It has a population of 143m and I bet the power is in the hands of a tiny percentage of that.
Plus - they will have a significant veteran population.

Not sure if that is supposed to reassure me? It doesn’t. 😊

I suspect that significant veteran population is pining for the USSR.

A couple more refineries attacked.

I understand gasoline exports have been stopped until the end of September and shortages are now beginning to bite on the Russian public. Unfortunately, Russia also had a massive over supply of diesel and this doesn't seem to be affected yet.

There are reports of a rise in Russian saboteurs:. There are numerous media outlets reporting on internal sabotage but details are hard to get hold of though the number of reports keeps increasing.

Ukraine’s Security Service struck an airfield in Saky in annexed Crimea overnight on Monday, hitting five fighter jets, which Russia uses for its regular attacks on Ukraine.

Five Russian fighter jets have been hit in an overnight drone attack by Ukraine’s security service at an airfield in Saky in Russia-annexed Crimea.
SBU stated that its Special Operations Centre "A" mission’s drones destroyed one SU-30SM aircraft, damaged another and hit three Su-24s while also striking the aviation weapons depot.
"The successful special operation carried out by the SBU in Saky marks another step toward weakening the enemy's capacity to wage its war of aggression against Ukraine," security service said.

Not good, on any metric.

What is interesting/scary if the Russian drones that "strayed" into Polish airspace to the point where Polish & NATO fighter jets were shooting them down 35 Polish and NATO fighter jets were scrambled and several airports closed.
Poland shoots down drones over its territory amid Russian attack on Ukraine

Months ago several sources were talking about how Russia wouldn't just send troups across its borders into a NATO country but first there would be a lot of "trangressions" a bit like poking the target to see what happened or to distract from the real target, etc.

Does anybody really believe that are Russian drones so bad and under such poor control they they'll be accidentally flying to the wrong country?
