I was under the impression that this would be what would happen. Except for the troops bit. There are a few ex-Russian residences that are currently vacant. Maybe he could be tempted to squat in one of them. It would incur a hefty wallpaper bill though.
He's just biding his time whilst Carrie irons that gold wallpaper of the walls.....

BBC breaking news reckons there is a group of Cabinet Ministers on their way to tell him needs to resign

He is currently floundering in a committee meeting where he is being grilled by a group of select committee chairs.

There was also supposed to be a meeting of the 1922 committee at 4 p.m. today where they 'could' discuss changing the rules

some of the people who need to be there are in the meeting he is in - I suspect the 1922 meeting will start when the committee meeting finishes

Boris Johnson seems to be threatening a snap election if he is being forced out.

I might have been getting carried away with the troops and The Tower bit...

Doing that would scare the whole party - after all this mess and all the other problem Labour would love it

They might even win if Corbyn was still in charge

OK - maybe not - but it just maybe that bad

That is what has been his tactic previously. Doubt it will work this time. Doesn't the house need to vote on an election, or have the rules changed so that the PM can just announce?

BTW - Johnson is in front of the Liason committee at the moment. If you want to see him squirm have a look on YouTube, he was being questioned about ethics and being metaphorically pummeled by Sir Bob Neill - a Tory MP about Johnson's actions around Pincher. Even Sir Bernard Jenkin and William Wragg are getting the odd kick in.

Apparently the 1922 committee have already voted to change their rules.
They started their meeting at 4.30 so it took less than 30mins.

Boris Johnson is refusing to commit to Bernard Jenkin he won’t dissolve parliament to save himself.
Not that I don't enjoy his squirming....but he's a first class w@nker,smirking his way through that interview.

I have to stress, I don't watch Liaison Committee meetings generally......honestly.....

I have just got to the William Wragg bit. I was wrong about him putting in the odd kick, he has gone full pub fight on Johnson. Just got to the bit where he has asked the PM which qualities in the former deputy chief whipp appealed to him the most!

I keep on having to remind myself that these are members of parliament in the same party as Johnson. Johnson is farking toast.
