I would have thought the phrase 'old Etonians with no morality' specifically and exactly applied to Johnson.
Cameron was bad enough, especially when freed from the restraints of a coalition so the country was run by an old Etonian, but Johnson is in a class of his own.
Cameron was a weak-willed politician. Someone who thought he could never lose because he has had the cushion of privilege so bet the future direction of the country in order to shore up the more loony parts of his back-bench and party membership.
Having said that, he had some socially liberal views. Things like gay marriage which he pushed through despite the likes of Rees-Mogg's desperation to stay in the 19th Century. He had some sort of outlook on how he felt the UK should be and some kind of understanding of the gravity and responsibility of his position.
Johnson is burdened with no such views. He has no moral compass and absolutely no vision on what he would like the UK to look like.
He stuffs his cabinet with morons whose only qualification is a slavish adherence to Brexit, an ability to humiliate themselves in front of the media to defend him and his policies, and (in most cases) such a lack of competence that even the most rabid of grass root members would be unlikely to elect them leader.
Although he has a healthy majority, he is utterly hostage to the nuttier sections of his backbenches, and absolutely won't have the guts to face them down. And they know it. They run the show. Just look at the reaction to the Health Secretary's speech about COVID restrictions.
This is only going to get worse before it gets better.
