Jeesh!

Sunak’s protection officer arrested for betting on the date of election.

If true. What a stupid way to get sacked.

Whilst I can see that having a gambling problem (if he/she has such a problem) could be an issue in such a potentially sensitive position, does Rishi routinely discuss his election. plans with his Protection Officer?

I would have thought that (say) taxi drivers may well hear the odd useful bit of information, are they also forbidden to bet?

The issue about Sunak discussing private matters in front of the police is interesting but he has to have conversations in the ministerial cars.

The policeman has been charged with Misconduct in a public office. They are going to hear lots of stuff which they simply can’t divulge.

Taxi drivers may hear stuff, but the direct line of information transfer would be very hard to prove.

A husband was done for overhearing his wife’s business conversations, so if they can prove a direct link they can prosecute.

Another, different one, also today. Served in the same unit as Wayne Couzens. Mark Tyrell, 55.

Another one in June. Jamie Woodhams, 51.

In July:

David Parsons, 28.

Jamie Howlett, 33.

Likely that some of these are historical allegations, arising from forces re examining earlier complaints in the light of the Couzens case or of victims who were previously reluctant to come forward.

New depths plumbed here: Met cop stole cash from a dead man.

He denied it but the genius had filmed it on his own body-worn camera. Now he’s in jail.

PC Craig Carter, of Harlow, Essex, stole about £115 from Italian filmmaker and actor Claudio Gaetani between 7 and 14 September 2022.
A court previously heard how Carter took money from Mr Gaetani's wallet after he was sent to collect personal items from him after he collapsed and died while cycling to north London to visit friends.

This week, Gwent police officer John Stringer, sexual assault of a girl under 13.

Another Met police officer shared cctv footage of rapes. One of women later died and her assailant has been charged.

The Essex cop was likely on £40k a year. Stealing £100 from an old man tells you something about his character. They need to look at every case or person he was involved with because you don't get to 50 and suddenly start thieving such amounts. It'll be a pattern.

Colour me surprised.

I think it's time to consider that as a possibility. It covers a huge area, facing challenges the regions don't face. Change of leadership over the years doesn't seem to have done much to restore confidence.
