All this started because I used the word scumbag and someone pointed out that they're all 'fellow humans' which they are, still scumbags though.
No, this started because you equated being on a council estate with being a scumbag. It's not a useful description, it's pejorative and shows a lack of understanding that some people need help to improve their lot in life.

And you lefty lot wonder why when voting time comes around people like me can't bring themselves to put a cross in the Labour box, because they're associated with people that have the sort of views I've been reading on here.
And again you miss the point. I'm not a lefty.

Do you honestly think I've got anything in common with the likes of Sunak or Boris as individuals, the problem is my views are so far removed from how people on here see things how could I possibly vote how you do?
Quite easy. You just look and go "Do I want the current bunch of useless onanists"? If the answer to that question is "No", then your only real option is to vote for the other candidate who can win in your area. It is only by depriving the Tories of seats that we can get a different government and possibly have a stab at electoral reform.

It doesn't matter who you support or which party you think would govern best, no party is able to win enough seats to form a Government other than the Tories. Labour will struggle and the most likely successful opposition would be a liberal coalition.

I will be voting Lib Dem as they are the only people who can unseat Raab. Simple.

It doesn't really matter what Shep thinks, it's going to be a Labour landslide regardless. I do think it's quite sweet that he thinks we are hanging off his every word and that we actually care what he thinks. Aww bless.

Ditto Adam238645. That comparatively tiny number of potential voters who are still obsessed with Corbyn are insignificant in the grand scheme of things.

I'm not sure that it is. The Conservatives have up to 21 months left give or take. That's plenty of time for Starmer to lose the initiative.
I think it's been said before, but it's the Conservatives that will win or lose the election by themselves. At the moment they are losing it big time, but if Rishi does some more deals like NI, who knows?

Well, I don't think Starmer has ever took the initiative. He's had chances to. He's not even a Blair really, which isn't exactly high praise, Although Blair was a modernist and played the media well against the crusty John Major government which itself was rocked by scandals and sleaze such as the Cash for Questions and he connected with the public. I don't think Starmer has connected at all with the public... But i do think Starmer will win with a sizeable majority simply on the basis that even in silent contemplation, he is winning votes because the conservatives have been ripping themselves apart terminally for years and there is no sign that is going to change. That's what happens when you try to mix the likes of Rory Stewart with Nadine Dorries and then side with Dorries...

You're working very hard to 'other' the capacity for evil.

"The line separating good and evil passes not through states, nor between classes, nor between political parties either, but right through every human heart, and through all human hearts. This line shifts, it oscillates with the years. And even within hearts overwhelmed by evil, one small bridgehead of good is retained."

― Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, The Gulag Archipelago 1918–1956

Oh yes, for sure, i spend a good portion of each and every day wrestling my (inner) evil twin sister back into her cage.

It would be utter mayhem round these parts if I didn't 😇

It doesn't really matter what anyone thinks because my life is just fine and I couldn't give a t*ss who's in power because my life is sorted, 57, no mortgage with a huge pension pot and looking at retiring in the next year or two.

If Labour get in and improve my living standards its a bonus, if the Tories get back in and nothing changes who cares?

Some of us are not in that position and have children / grandchildren to think about, or just care that other people are also OK.

I also have children and may possibly have grandchildren one day but WTF has that got anything to do with someone saying "it doesn't matter what Shep thinks " ?

It doesn't matter what anybody on here thinks because in reality we're all nobodys, the difference is I know this unlike some of you who think you can save the world.

Get your cross in the Labour (or Liberal if you want to waste your vote) and if they win we'll see how much difference you've made.

Nothing at all but it has everything to do with your statement:-
" my life is just fine and I couldn't give a t*ss who's in power because my life is sorted, 57, no mortgage with a huge pension pot and looking at retiring in the next year or two."
This is the definition of self-centred. If you care about your children and grandchildren, you care about who is running the country and what they are doing to them. They have already taken away your children's rights to work in other countries, have made it harder for them to buy property, have lowered their wages in real terms etc. This is real, lasting, damage that the Government is doing.

But - as long as you are OK...

Give it up shep: she doesn't even think of you as a scumbag. (subs please check. Ed.)
Perhaps time to rest your case full of shit someplace else?
Nope I don't.

But I've no idea why someone with so little care for political discussion spends so much time hanging around a forum aimed at just that.

To show us that there are rather a lot of people out there who don't care for, or are ignorant about politics.?

Like we didn't know that already??

It's why we got hived off from the main CC forum in the first place right?
