One aspect to current Trump shenanigans that's surprising me is how his family are not (yet?) involved.

I regard as Trump being in it for himself; to him the Republican Party is a convenient vehicle, the electorate a necessary evil. So assuming he doesn't manage to change the Constitution to give himself a 3rd term, beyond revenge and financial gain I'd assumed that he'd be looking to have family members step into his post in 4 years. But for dynasty to continue I'd be expecting some children to be in more prominent senior positions, yet from everything I've seen they are mostly just making occasional Social Media posts.

I understand what you mean, but, as our own Harold Wilson supposedly once said "a week is a long time in politics". Four years is even longer ;)

There seemed to be a bit of momentum behind his daughter Ivana going into politics at one time, and I think his son in law has been involved in peripheral stuff. Melania always looks to have zero interest in being in the White House and isn't involved in anything like the level that Jill Biden was. She's the least interested First Lady I can recall. Baron looks like he hates the limelight too. I don't think Trump is interested in building a political dynasty at all. He'd rather make money.

Well he's just sent Junior to try and buy Greenland...
He wasn't looking to buy, didn’t bring his cheque book. He was scouting landing sites, defensive weak points, potential front lines, gun emplacements, control centres and communication lines ... all critical information prior to an invasion.

He’s reflecting the likes of Putin and China, who are both trying to expand their geographical security by annexing land they don’t own.
Instead of calling out Russia and China for what they are doing, he’s trying to play their game.

Not just playing their game but trying to show he can play it harder.

There is probably an element of bluff and bravado in this talk about Greenland because he knows Russia would also love a bit of it.

He's been shown a video that says it's a good idea presented by someone he likes.
