Actually Andy it is a word appropriated by daffodils since it's origins are from the events of the past, when slave owners lynched enlightened slaves who began to resist. They lynched 'woke' slaves and left them hanging in the trees as 'strange fruit' as a warning to other slaves ... and the white folk would taken their children to see them hanged.

It's a biological fact that all people think with use of their brains. It's also a fact that some people have more of a gift for it than others. Some people say they have their self-knowledge. Some people say that don't have this sense of self, therefore self-knowledge can not exist. Which of these people are the enlightened?
Slave abolitionists were called 'woke' by their detractors. Do you understand that when you call people 'woke', you are self-identifying as someone who finds joy in human rights abuses? You realise that you are appropriating the term to self-identify as a human rights abuser?
