I am a little encouraged by Rayner's comments as reported today.
“Personally, I would like to see Diane Abbott back...
Though that's a bit spoilt by
...but the Labour party has to follow its procedures.”

Wet flannels the lot of them. It really comes to something that Badenoch was more supportive of Abbott than anyone from the labour front bench.

Meaning throwing out of the Labour Party anyone who dares disagree with Herr Starmer or is deemed a little bit left wing.

If, in the process of clearing the mess left by Corbyn, principally a party wracked by accusations of anti-semitism and the biggest electoral defeat in 70 years, you have a prominent Corbynite MP who writes in a national newspaper that Jews do not suffer racism, what is it that you expect to happen?

For all your moaning, maybe reflect on the fact that without somebody doing what Starmer has done you'd be looking at another 5 years of Tory government.

If a leader of a party is pummelled verey day in the press, and by the right wing of the Labour Party, as well as the anti-semitic smears levelled at Corbyn, the Forde Report exhonerated him of all charges of anti-semitism (although it did say he failed to deal with the Labour anti-semitism issue properly), don't be too surprised when that party loses an election by a huge margin.

BTW, the Ford Report was commissioned by Starmer, ignored by Starmer because it didn't give him the verdict he wanted much to the anger of Martin Forde KC, England's foremost black KC and it had quite a few choice things to say about Starmer's leadership.

We are going to get another 5 years of a Tory Gov, the colour is just red this time, not blue.

You still dont get it do you.

It doesnt matter what excuses or rationale you make to explain Corbyn's historic defeat.

Whoever leads the party has to do so with the right-wing press in mind otherwise its rinse and repeat and the Tories win every time.

The Tories love people like you.

We are going to get another 5 years of a Tory Gov, the colour is just red this time, not blue.

People were saying the same in 97-2010.

Maybe they'd prefer perpetual Tory rule. Or perhaps they should become media moguls and reverse the situation.

At this point (personally) I don't see any point in bringing up Corbyn any more. What's done is done, and I may disagree with how it happened but it's not going to change.

Barring some kind of miracle, or the apocalypse, we're getting Starmer. He's played the game he's needed to play to get to where he is. It's a pretty grubby one, and his lack of commitment to well, anything really, is a bit of a concern but I can understand why he's done it.

I suppose I live in hope rather than expectation that things will change a great deal, but surely to f*ck they can't be any worse. To be honest I'm more interested about what happens in the Scottish political landscape.

Apocalypse is actually not a bad shout, honestly.

Does the live-streamed genocide committed by the state on whose behalf the Labour Antisemitism Panic was initiated and weaponised reframe this period for you in any way? I mean, to some of us it was obvious all along that the treatment of Abbott was racist shitbaggery by a demented authoritarian faction hellbent on expunging any prospect of a moderate social-democratic government, but there's suddenly quite a lot of Noticing going on, even by people who were busy shitfunnelling hysterical bullshit at the time...

I tried to fit "skipping" and "sprightly" into my previous fawning about TC but they evaded me. They'll do nicely here.
