It's amusing that we are (or at least I am) on page 404.

404 error codes are generated when a user attempts to access a webpage that does not exist, has been moved, or has a dead or broken link. The 404 error code is one of the most frequent errors a web user encounters.

Looks like Labour have confirmed they won't be changing the council tax and doing away with the single resident reduction in the Budget. It was supposedly on the table but has now been discounted. Correct decision. Single people on low incomes can really struggle but don't get much help.

U-turn, is it?! Thank fark for that. Maybe someone has actually noticed how badly they've fucked it with the bribes and decided to do a bit of damage limitation.

Full quote:

"I’m really proud of people who want to contribute…their money to our politics. It is a noble pursuit.....and here are my personal bank sort code and account number ... you won't be forgotten”

It's almost as if they've always been made-up shite to justify what they wanted to do anyway!

True. Danny Blanchflower said recently that Fiscal Rules don't exist because they don't work. Economies are too fluid to have fiscal rules. No central bank or government in the world uses fiscal rules. He cites the covis pandemic, cost of living crisis, the Ukraine war and the resultant energy cost rise as reason that'll kill any fiscal rule stone dead.

But, as we know, if it doesn't make sense, the UK Gov will introduce it as a way to hide that they have no idea what they're doing.

Strange that no-one has mentioned the £4 million that Labour received from a tax dodging hedge fund, Quadrature, who have interests in fossil fuels, weapons manufacturing and private healthcare. The single largest donation ever received and happened to arrive just before the rules changed so that any donations over £11.800 would have to be declared weekly, as it was election time, rather than quarterly.

Highly fortunate that this donation (investment) arrived just at that moment so they didn't have to declare it for 3 months and not during an election campaign.
