So is anyone posting links to the fascist hellsite without explanation.

DEPUTY PM POSTS ON FASCIST HELLSITE!!!

In between wasting her money on nice clothes, the Labour Minister showed her support for twisted psycho Elon Musk's billion-dollar business.

Welcome yourself into the new modern crisis
I dont want to worry you, but we even have a State Religion.

Famously never any issues as far as that's concerned.

What's everyone got planned for Guy Fawkes night?

Sorry, are we equating 'Jewish' and 'Israeli'?

When a nation and a religion are so intrinsically linked it is understandable that some people equate the two. A similar thing has happened in recent times when people criticising the actions of Iraq or Iran were accused of Islamaphobia whether they were or not..

It was considered not possible to dislike Iran/Iraq without being Islamaphobic but apparently it is perfectly acceptable to criticise Israel without being anti-semitic.

You could replace "antisemitic" with any religious grouping, which, in my view is not healthy.

Could you?

You'd think the deputy prime minister might know better. And TBH I thought we on this thread might as well.

Surely there ARE Jewish communties in the UK? And she has chosen - possibly under instruction from her line manager(s) - to make this show of support.
It's not like she's said "I have no time for the non-Jews in Israel." Except maybe in your head .,.

Sorry Wobblers. He's written this in The Sun.

"I know some like Extinction Rebellion will lecture me on carbon capture investment. They’ll say it isn’t the right choice.

But it’s working people who come first. Without this tech, heavy industries such as cement, glass-making and chemicals will risk having to down tools.

The jobs of brickies, sparkies and engineers — the backbone of Britain — will be risked.

That means fewer new homes, fewer new roads and a slow decline to the dark ages.

To those drum-banging, finger-wagging extremists I say: I will never sacrifice Great British industry.

But this is a third way that brings industry with us on our path to Net Zero — while creating 4,000 jobs, reigniting our industrial heartlands and pumping £5billion into the economy every year once it is up and running."

Thanks Claud.

This is all too similar to the self serving presentations I've sat through from representatives from the oil and gas industry (funnuly enough, there seem toi be quite a few of them up here in Aberdeen; I just can't quite fathom why... ). An emphasis on how any solution needs "community engagement", preserving jobs and stating the only way to achieve that is through continued use of oil and gas (not what happened with coal, funny how they never mention that). Nor do they ever mention the most significant action which would alleviate matters: reduction of consumption.

One particularly egregious example was commenting about how switching to renewable energy needs to take account of energy security and continued availability - and mentioning the electricity power crisis in South Africa. Except that the SA power crisis has been caused by the failure to maintain their existing fleet of coal fired power stations, and excessive delays in building new power stations. Which are also coal fuelled. There are no large scale wind or solar schemes in SA (though some are being planned/built, finally!).

I mention this example specifically as I happen to know the author of that happens to have Starmer's ear when it comes to forming energy policy.

But the portrayal of the climate activists as all being unworldly zealots is straight out of the fossil fuel play book, despite the fact that most are in fact far better informed than the majority of industry pundits (such as our very own mudsticks - who, alas, no longer seems to be around). So, yeah, depressing - but all too predictable, sadly.
