Starmer's vision quest

If you think that wealthy folk don't spend any money where they live, you're in for a surprise. That is what makes world commerce.

Private sector creates wealth for governments to spend.

If you over tax the wealthy, you make the country poorer, less services

See Rachel

That's been proven to be wrong so many times.

If you give millionaires a tax cut, they'll not spend it locally but with an offshore tax accountant or put it in an offshore tax dodging account.

If you give workers a nice pay rise, say from minimum to living wage, they'll spend it locally in shops etc thus creating more jobs and so more tax income and so on.

If all these millionaires and billionaires have created wealth for the nation, why is the UK skint?

I see where you're coming from but I will disagree.

We need, now more than ever, to stand up to people like him and we all have to repeat the facts over and over and over again without getting involved in a race to the bottom.

Eventually, he'll realise that he's not going to get the reaction he craves and he will just go elsewhere. He's already flounced once, so here's to another.

He's already dragging you to the bottom and he's getting exactly what he wants...engagement.

You are trying to fight a fight you cannot win. Not because you are wrong, but because you don't understand what the game is.

He's not clever, but he's clever enough to know how to pull your strings because you are engaging in good faith whereas he isn't.

The end result is that we all get showered with his incessant stream of effluent. Admittedly this is a low-traffic forum, but fast-flowing sewage is not an improvement.

The only way to beat him is everyone to put him on ignore. It's what he fears the most. He left before because he panicked after the summer riots and subsequent legal action. He's back because he feels emboldened by the election of Trump.

Yes, he really is that simple.

The top few percent of wealthy people pay the vast majority of tax. They create employment, hire more staff build businesses.

If you tax them too much they stop investing and leave - it's that simple

Government can't tax its way to prosperity, see Rachel

We don't know what the terms of the 'deal' were. Were they good terms for the UK or not? How can the UK government ensure that the UK's gradual realignment with the EU is on terms that are as favorable as possible because, make no mistake, this is a negotiation and there will be other EU countries trying to ensure that any deal favours them.

Why do you feel the UK should grab the first deal offered to them?

No, that's just failed lifers, who hate those who are successful and wealthy.

We have a couple in our extended family'. Holier than thou about others in the family doing well for themselves

- until out of sheer generosity the wealthy family members gave them a huge chunk of money, enough to buy a house outright.

That shut them up 😜

 Cool story bro.

Glad you like it. When there is a family get together, it always makes me smile to see them.

I remember when they were younger, spouting, moralist platitudes, about healthy food, not have personal transport whatever other crap they would roll out, we do it this way.

Now they own/drive a decent car, and eat meat, KFC like the rest of us

Multi just can't stand the opposite view, so would rather block, mute the dissenting opinions.

Look how well that went for democrats. Trump, landslide victory ✌️

He's generally being ignored from what I can see.

I don't disagree with what you're saying, but there's no need to be condescending about it.
