Time to stop as it achieves nothing, no thought given to responses, just more Twitter Twaddle posted

You can't have an interesting discussion with somebody who just posts memes and slogans. There is no knowledge underpinning the views he posts and he isn't posting 'challenging views' because the views have no basis in factual realities.

He probably thinks he's being clever, but he'll settle for just being an irritant if all else fails.

Put him on ignore, then you won't even realise he's posted and there might be half a chance of a discussion that is a learning process.

He is highly immature and he isn't actually a very nice person either.

I see Starmer dared challenge Trump by saying Ukraine is on an inevitable pathway to NATO membership.

Trump then phoned up somebody present during an event Starmer was at and asked to speak with Starmer to arrange a "friendly" meeting. I daresay Trump will make threats to pull out of NATO.

Makes me think back to Brexit. One of the European schemes the UK pulled out of as a result was the European Gallileo system which planned to put up satellites to offer an alternative to the US GPS and Russian GLONASS systems so that European countries would no longer be reliant on them. Satellite positioning systems (GPS is just the name of the US system) are so well integrated into everything from mobile phones, sat nav, aviation, shipping, road haulage, medicine, industrial usage to vital military use that shut down would pretty much cause everything to grind to a halt.

The Europeans realised that one day we might have a hostile and malign leadership in the US and that reliance on the US would be very dangerous. That day has probably arrived.

Equally, one of the shrieks from the idiot Brexiters during the campaign was " the EU are trying to create a European Army!!!".

Well, guess what. Wish they had and wish we were a part of it, because the threat of the NATO alliance, which is the only thing that has kept out Russian expansion, looks likely to crumble with the crypto-fascist leadership of the US.

If i remember correctly, there was a government document released during the early stages of a British designed GPS system, that a loss of such a service would cost the UK economy £1bn a day. Despite this, we tossed a sovereign system, Galileo built with the EU, which involved British companies in the bin.

It's very easy to unite people in hate and fear. Trump's doing it, Farage is doing it, the AfD are doing it, Orban is doing it.

But the people doing it are only using it as a vehicle to gain power for financial gain for themselves and their cronies. If leaders get people scared and transfixed with hatred they become so obsessed that they forget to actually scrutinise the leader because they regard them as a 'saviour'.

All reason goes out of the window, and facts and reality no longer matters.

In a similar vein I remember the excitement around Musk creating the Starlink system and how it would mean that even poor countries with limited infrastructure would be able to access the internet. Ocean cruisers would have connectivity. In Malaysia on Turtle Island in the middle of the ocean, we had internet thanks to Starlink. What an incredible idea from a generous and benevolent billionaire.

Cut to a couple of years later...

Ah... I think he's just built the beginning of skynet and it's being operated by a madman for his own insane purposes...

(Probably more relevant to a different thread but ...) And Musk and Starlink are generally considered the real reason behind Trump's Executive Order acting against South Africa The "Egregious Actions of The Republic of South Africa". The land use laws are said to be fairly sensible given that there are already strong property rights laws in the country. But Musk is trying to get Starlink into South Africa and needs to setup a South African company but they have a 30% local ownership requirement and Musk doesn't like that and wont do it ... So Musk seems to have a bit of a vendetta going.
