Whilst you lapse into sudden naivety every time you need to avoid noticing the bleeding obvious. We've been through this Mandelson shit time and time again. What Mandelson says is the actual position, and what will happen. The red carpet for Zelenskyy performance is not going to stop Starmer chucking him under the bus. But it's going down very well with exactly who you'd expect it to...

Yeah, sure. Starmer is hamming it up enjoying the praise he gets this week, even though he knows it'll be political suicide next week.

A more astute observation would be that Mandelson was selected as US Ambassador because at the time the emphasis was on managing trade links between the UK and the US, and trade is Mandelson's area of expertise. This is still Mandelson's job.

It is also clear that Trump’s plan to withdraw aid to Ukraine was not decided today. He baited Zelensky to lay the groundwork. It is clear that Trump's decision today took Starmer by surprise and puts him in a vulnerable position. Mandelson's echoing of the US position is at odds with his own government's.

I'm not adding that to the list of things you don't know about.

But at least now everyone knows that MAGAndy learns all the things he does know about from balanced, exactingly researched & authoritative sources such as X accounts called 'Britain For Trump'. :okay:

It's like our PM (Starmer) said in a speech last Aug (2024) "So those with the broadest shoulders should bear the heavier burden."

Maybe he's just confused?

Ian

He meant literally the broadest shoulders A brick layer has broader shoulders than a banker by virtue of their job. Think Boxer in animal farm.

Of course, they will act all surprised when the poor keep falling for Reform's siren songs.

All of this Trump and Ukraine stuff makes a good time to hide the domestic bad news https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c1lpjqg2mp5o. It is almost as if we have the Tories back in power.

It's almost as if sanction based benefits system has had the opposite effect of dealing with the welfare burden, whilst simultaneously plunging people into destitution which has expanded the food banks into an operation, not unlike one of a major military conflict and subsequent humanitarian disaster relief program, and put overwhelming stress on health care facilities in the UK, including mental health services, which is barely fit for purpose and is massively swamped...

Good old Labour, I bet you're super proud, those who voted for them

They crushed business confidence, frozen OAPs, sent billions abroad, signed up to a war with your children. Raised NI for just about everyone. Increased immigration to record levels.

Now they're going to cuts services to save cash.

Have I missed anything?
