Over 60 countries have gained independence from the UK, and not one has ever asked to rejoin.
Not even those which are smaller, in terms of population, economy or land mass, than Scotland.

Somehow, we are a special case that couldn’t possibly survive. Aye right! 😂

You would do well to see how some of those countries have got on since independence, before you make any analogies.

As I say, if you go in with open eyes and vote to be poorer for the rest of your lives and you are happy to tolerate many years of upheaval while a country is formed, in the belief that this will be offset by the autonomy, or that in the end it will be better for later generations, so be it. But if you support independence as a quick fix against a perceived prejudice, because you are being lied to, that's problematic.

Did you learn nothing from Brexit?

Take Ireland for example: similar population, open borders with the UK, doing ok financially.

I'll come back to them... But I was thinking more about places like Guyana.

Ireland is often used as the exemplar for Scotland. The thing is, firstly it wasn't doing all that well for a long while and, secondly, it already exists and has provided international business with the borderline tax haven it needs. Scotland wouldn't be first to market, as it were, and nor do the SNPs policies seem to suggest the same route to prosperity.

So Ireland as a model seems fairly superficial to me. As does Iceland. Hell why not compare Scotland to the Cayman Islands? Small, wealthy independent nation. What could go wrong?

Doubt it was R Reeves, more likely general loss of confidence in the government. Reeves had some massive bust up with Lyndsey Hoyle just prior to coming into the chamber, according to social media anyway.

As I said, you can't counter evidence if there is no evidence. Go back to your comics.

Poor excuse.

If you don't live in Scotland it's of little consequence where you obtain your information, or whether or not it's reliable.

Also applies to any Britnat former residents who detested the place & couldn't scuttle back to the comforting familiarity of ToryLand quick enough.

Calling @First Aspect to the thread. I'm not that fussed as the SNP are now an electoral irrelevance, but FA enjoyed being an expat in Scotland.

Good luck if it does happen. That said, I reckon if the English had been able to vote in that independence referendum, you'd be an independent nation by now.

It will all fall back on her trying to find another £5bn, when there isn't a solution that doesn't involve either pïssing off the electorate, business or the financial markets

There's video of of her talking with the Speaker; not sure it was a "massive bust up". He was though frustrated by her answers on Tuesday and there's an ongoing conflict from way before Starmer about the need to announce stuff to the house before briefing the press.

Best guess is that multiple things both professional and personal got to her.
