The prize always goes to those men. That is the nature of power. The choices for us are not ones we would necessarily choose, but that is what is on the table.
There is no alternative electoral system available to us, and the one we have is rigged.

It might have been because a lot of people have had enough of the 'woke lefty' views and opinions of certain groups in this country and saw it as a bit of a two finger salute to the snowflakes, just saying like.

The interesting thing about the brexit vote demographic was that the less well educated you are, the more likely you were to vote for brexit.
University of Life doesn't count, I'm afraid.

Probably fair to say those at the bottom of the UK pile in terms of education, jobs, and income didn't see as much direct benefit in staying in the EU as the middle classes and above who were financially better placed to enjoy stuff like cheap travel and working in Europe. They felt they didn't have as much to lose by voting Leave.
Which is also why the Remain campaigners should have been totally 100% focused on the economic benefits of staying in the EU, which benefitted everybody in terms of jobs and trade, including the less well off, rather than banging on about not being able to retire to France and that only racist bigots think about voting Leave.
(I admit this doesn't explain why some middle class folk and ex-pats, who were obviously enjoying the benefits, voted Leave).

There's a lot of mythology about who drlivered the Brexit vote. The general belief is that it was disaffected Northerners.
It wasn't. It was emphatically old (predominantly middle-class) people in the south. (especially south east).
