I've not been around here for a while, and if I click on the usual "catch up from where I left" link, I find I have over a hundred more pages to read. There are limits to my dedication. It's Starmer's fault of course - as someone put it on Twitter, "Everyone hates him for different reasons, and they all have a point." But I'm looking for a bit of in-forum guidance as to what I've missed, on this thread or elsewhere. Summarize and/or point me to some highlights?

UK Gov. determined to clutch its ankles and be totally obsequious. Stupidity beyond belief. You don't get anywhere feeding an alcoholic more booze.
Why can't Starmer grow a pair and make some sort of stance. All Starmer seems able to push is taking much needed support from tyhe disabled and cutting Overseas Aid.
I despair about our politicians/politicians.

Lots of people who didn't like the "Evil Tories" thought it couldn't get any worse under Labour. And then it did. A lot worse. They were warned.
I wouldn't say it has got worse. I would say it hasn't got better. I'd also say that it wasn't like there was a third option of "competent government who will move for closer ties with Europe, impose taxes on multinational transactions to plug the budget deficit and bring in sweeping subsidies for renewable energy products.Lots of people who didn't like the "Evil Tories" thought it couldn't get any worse under Labour. Starmer has disappeared so far up Trump's ärse that if you look carefully you can see the light sparkling on Starmer's designer glasses at the back of Trump's throat.
at least he's managed a year as PM without having to fight off a leadership challenge.
Almost looks like he's going down to kiss Trumps feet. I despair at his (lack of) performance.
Same here. I thought, here's a former Barrister, someone intelligent, able to think on his feet. Should be ok.Weird thing is that when he took the Labour leadership from Corbyn others (elsewhere) were saying how dull he was and what a failure he'll be but I was the one saying he'd do well, sensible person considers things rather than jumping in ... and I was completely wrong.

There's been an influx of refugees from elsewhere - some odd, others not quite so odd.
I think it started with the Winter Fuel Allowance and that was close on Starmer Day One.On the Starmer front @theclaud, mea culpa. I was wrong and am still waiting for evidence of a forensic approach. I believe the benefit changes will be the start of a backlash from MPs.
There's been an influx of refugees from elsewhere - some odd, others not quite so odd. But at least Matticus is still churning out the witticisms.
