Luckily or unluckily, I can't see that as I left X this very weekend.

Wouldn't want you to miss out...

'Moraes ordered X to block certain accounts accused of spreading false news and hate messages, including some belonging to supporters of...Bolsonaro'.

Seems nuts. Does he not realise 'hate/lies spewing X' X may well be thus banned?
isn't that why he exits that country? There are enough things Musk does wrong but here he has a point, just as there was a point buried in his criticism on the UK

I was always a low user so it was a minor loss for me. These extremes lead us into an ever more dangerous world.
yeah all the extremes on a social media platform are gonna kill us all right? Article points out the core issue people are not willing to move from Twitter

Things could be about to get interesting for Freeze Peach enthusiast Musk with the news of Pavel Durov's arrest.

I know a few people who are fans of Telegram because it's "way less intrusive than Facebook/WhatsApp". I leave them to that delusion because I can't be bothered with the argument.

Strange how the far right align freedom with the right to lie.

Marketing is often there to mislead but has recently veered far more into lies.
The alignment with Trump is also very problematic for the company itself.

Musk was probably close to being arrested for attempting to fan the flames of the riots.
"Our very own Toby Young, who fights, if selectively, for free speech today was making the same argument the other night on GBNews: “Surely let people make up their own minds about what’s false, what’s true, what’s misinformation, what’s reliable information; and if it’s misinformation, it will eventually lose the contest in the public square, in a free and open fight.”
You have to wonder if Musk and Toby really believe this. Even in the age of Mill there were gatekeepers of information – primarily newspaper editors and book publishers – and there were millions in society who had no meaningful voice in “the public square,” such as it was."

On the subject of trust, Rees Moggs Somerset Capital wound down quite recent, the managed funds apparantly transferred out.
One wonders how much the toxicity of Mogg influenced that failure.
