Sometimes. Sri Lankan Buddhist monks were hardliners pushing the war against the Tamils.

And in Myanmar the attacks on the Rhohinja people were driven by Buddhist zealots.

Like his former boss, Former Trump/White House lawyer John Eastman, who is believed to be the key person behind the fake electors scheme, is opposing Fulton County DA Fani Willis' application to have all the remaining defendants tried in August 2024. However, unlike Trump, whose wish is to delay, delay, delay, Eastman wants an earlier trial and for the remaining defendants to be split into two groups.

Republican lawmakers in Georgia who introduced a bill which would effectively mean that an unelected body could remove elected state prosecutors from their office, have had their bill thrown out by the Georgia Supreme Court.
Republicans claimed the black lives matters protests as the basis of the proposed law, but it appeared to be directed towards removing Fani Willis and her prosecution of Trump and his coconspirators.

Judge McAfee overseeing the trial in Georgia of Trump.snd others, has issued an order modifying the probation conditions of Ken Cheseborough, who took a plea deal.
It looks like Cheseborough and/or the court, have been contacted by out of state prosecutors, as the order allows Cheseborough to travel to Arizona and Nevada (both battleground states in the last election) and to Washington DC. Presumably discussions will concern the involvement of Trump, John Eastman and others in the fake electors scheme.

George Santos becomes only the sixth representative to be expelled from Congress.

Randy Rainbow saw it coming - just brilliantly, of course.

Albeit not a majority in the party, 105 Republicans voted to expel him.👍
It's a pity they don't have the guts to deal with those members of Congress who supported Trump's attempt to overturn the election.
Meanwhile, one of Trump's lawyers, Alina Habba, is named in a lawsuit against Trump's Bedminster golf course, as bring involved in unethical conduct. https://www.cnn.com/2023/11/30/politics/bedminster-sexual-harassment-lawsuit/index.html

Two more Washington DC court losses by Trump, both coming within an hour or so of each other.
The first was an appeal court decision in which Trump is being sued by police officers and others, for civil damages in respect of the events of 6 January. Trump had claimed he had presidential immunity because his actions on and leading up to the day, were part of his official duties. This has been rejected by a court of appeal unanimously. Interestingly, one of the judges who concurred with the decision, formerly clerked for the corrupt Supreme Court Justice Thomas, had been a lawyer in the Trump White House and was a Trump appointee to the bench.
The appeal court had sat on the decision for around 12 months, but fortunately during this time, had allowed the judge presiding over the case, to allow matters to proceed in his court.
The second was a motion to dismiss submitted by Trump's lawyers, against the criminal case brought by special counsel Jack Smith. Trump had argued that his efforts to overturn the election were part of his presidential duties and that he was exercising his free speech rights. Both arguments were rejected.

The hypocrisy of MAGA Republicans continues to find new boundaries. The House Speaker Mike Johnson, clearly has Trump's fist jammed in his arse, as he pledges to release previously publically unseen footage of the 6 January insurrection, "We want transparency...so people can draw their own conclusion." However, the faces of those shown in the footage will be blurred, "Because we don't want them to be retaliated against and be charged by the DoJ."

Elsewhere Tump is due to appear on Thursday before Judge Engoron in the Trump Org civil fraud trial. Trump has fought a gag order imposed on him following disgusting verbal attacks on, in particular, Judge Engoron's law clerk, but also Judge Engoron's wife and family. Judge Engoron and his clerk, have also been subjected to verbal attacks by Trump's lawyers in the court.
Trump is appealing the gag order to a higher court following his failure to have it lifted on appeal.
Yesterday in court, there was a rather delicious exchange between Judge Engoron and Chris Kise, one of Trump's lawyers, who had previously verbally attacked the judge.
Kise made a lengthy submission to the judge asking for an adjournment to Trump's testimony, pending the higher court hearing Trump's request to lift the gag order.
Judge "Plaintiff?"
The State "Absolutely not."
Judge "Absolutely not. No way. No how. It's a non starter."
The judge then jovially said to Kise, "You tried."
And after a slight pause the judge added, "And I gave it a deep thought, as well." ^_^

It appears the upper court has asked for written submissions and may be looking for a January 2024 hearing, which will make the issue mute, as Judge Engoron wants the hearing to be over before Christmas

Trump's gag order, subject to a minor modification, is reimposed by the Washington DC circuit Court of Appeal.
Trump will probably appeal, but the ruling seems to be pretty definitive in terms of findings of fact by Judge Tanya Chutkan, who is presiding over the 6 Jan trial.
It now looks like the main potential derailment to his DC trial in March, is his appeal against Judge Chutkan's ruling that he did not have presidential immunity, in his actions leading up to and on 6 January 2020. Hopefully, the appeal court tells Judge Chtukan to carry on with her proceedings while the appeal wends its way through the appeals process.
