Sorry, what? You think there’s an equivalence between admiring the achievements of a democratically elected politician and the dictatorial head of a Mafia-like state that repeatedly wages war on its neighbours?

Has Nicola waged war on her neighbours? Hadn’t noticed that, and I live in the border zone?

Is this that right wing "humour" that I keep hearing about?

Putin backed grifters gotta keep on grifting...

Nigel "Lord Haw Haw" Farage still hasn't condemned Putin's invasion of Ukraine.

He is effectively saying I'm wrong, but actually I'm not... Sorry Mr Fagend, Putin has declared war based on 3 things but emphasising the need to denazify Ukraine. I don't think even Mr Fagend, who hates the EU would go as far as to claim the EU and Nato are Nazi's or that the average Ukrainian is a Nazi. What we do get though, is that Mr Fagend clearly supports the Stalinist ideals of buffer zones and satellite states... Obviously worked out well for Belarus in the end.

Some of those Ukrainian immigrants arriving in small boats look a bit old to be children, and too well fed to be genuine refugees.

Riddle me this. We've all these drones buzzing around the middle-east remotely killing inconsequential brown people like some dystopian video game. Why not re-target one to do for crazed dictator Putin?
Or get the Queen, next time we invite his loot him to tea at the Palace, to spread some British equivalent to novichok on his scones?

Yes, a similar story. The US dangled a possible route to NATO to Saakashvili and this emboldened him to pick on ethnic Russian speakers who, at the time were pushing for greater autonomy. You can't join NATO if there are outstanding border/political issues. The US offered him military support to quell the troublesome areas.

Except, Putin kicked his ass and the Americans did not come to his aid. This created a frozen conflict whereas the Russian speaking area is largely independent.

The US did the same to Ukraine in 2014. Engineered a coup, using neo-Nazi* groups to remove a pro Russian leader (who was democratically elected) and replaced him with puppet. Hence, Farage's reference to 2014 events.

Putin did the same, and created a frozen conflict in Eastern Ukraine.

* This is why Putin continues to use Nazism as a reference when talking about the Ukrainian govt.

Did I say that ? But now your on it do you not see the irony. We were told that Corbyn was sympathetic to Russia because it was communist/Marxist etc but it's the Conservatives that have had massive donations from Russian billionaires.
But your right we dodged a bullet there!
Speaks volumes your admiration of Nige

If you read my post, I didn’t even say that I, personally, admired, or, approved of Putin, nor that I in anyway approved of the present situation wrt to dirty Russian money being laundered in the UK.

If you read, and retained, many of my posts, you would know, I voted Remain (I have even been admonished by Mudsticks, for mentioning it to frequently), so, while I am not an admirer of Nigel, in general, I do see that he out manicured the two major political parties, and got his desired outcome. It wasn’t MY desired outcome.

I'm not sure what your definition of either is. But have we ever had a far left goverment or a far right one ?
No, luckily.
50/50 of what ? You keep spouting this but where are the Putin supporters on the left....I've seen the likes of Trump,Bannon coming out in support but nobody really who I wouldn't describe as a crank ! As I said he's a poster boy for the right.
50/50 of the voting public, based on election results over the years. Many people on the left are so busy blaming NATO, but cannot bring themselves to blame Putin. Most of those MPs who signed that letter blaming NATO have now retracted their signatures..except for one!
Such a odd thing to say when we have the likes of Johnson and his Russian donors whilst in the past we had Blair/ Mandleson who were champions of Putin ?
In hindsight they were wrong back then, but there was no sign that Putin would turn out as he has.

No one mentioned Sturgeon until you did. My comment was an extreme but perfectly logical extension to this:

The reference to Sturgeon was in the same post! At no stage did I say I admired Putin. Although, surely, even you have to admit, he has chosen his timing well, and, for now, at least, sidelined US, UK, EU, and NATO. IMHO, he is a dangerous, but, rather shrewd bully.
