these people do remiond me of when I started working in a big company. There was a type of middle manager that I realised would never promote a woman he fancied
he could either want to -err - lets say 'sleep with her' - or he would respect her as a colleague
not both
Not every manager at that level - but just a certain type of middle aged man - and a lot of 'that type' seem to have become MPs - power and all that I suspect!
Yup there's a certain sort of man (all ages sadly) that doesn't seem able to view women as 'people', who are due the same respect, as human beings just like anyone else.
It seems more to be centred on how they (the men) regard her worth in terms of attractiveness or otherwise.
And or her 'usefulness' in terms of getting his needs met .
eg via some kind of servitude sexual domestic, or professional..
The concept of true equality with women is either incomprehensible, anathema, or both.
As if
Sad really.
And damaging too.
I guess it's largely down to upbringing, and 'socialisation' -
- or rather lack therof...
I'm bigger and badder and rougher and tougher, in other words sucker there is no other.
