I am not..

Beyond that, I fail to understand why you referred to me in the first place.
OK glad we've cleared that up - so we know that when you like or laugh at an offensive post - you do actually like it or find it amusing.

Because time was - several months back now - when you said slightly otherwise..

I referred to you because i found it funny how another poster leapt to your defence when you were supposedly being harassed - ( by me - we established you weren't ) - but at the same time there's a noticeable silence - or even approval (in your case) when a poster is being deliberately offensive to another (in that case to me) .

Its just an observation on a glaring double standard that's all - no big deal really ... ;)

Don't think so.

Compared to some of the stuff which has floated around on here over the past few days, I didn't perceive that as "offensive". Clearly, you felt differently.

It wasn't just that you didn't perceive it as offensive ( compared to whatever other stuff i don't know )

You actively endorsed it - found it funny even - thats quite a big ol jump..

But no matter - just a bit of old school - everyday misogynist bants eh.??

Hilarious
;)

You have lost me a little now now. You referred to "banter", I questioned if I had missed it, because I had not noticed any "banter", although I didn't spell it out, all I had noticed were personal insults (not aimed at me) and (IMHO) an unacceptable level of foul language. So, I would agree with the bolded bit, beyond that, you will have to explain, because I done understand what you are talking about.

Oh come off it, you put a laughing emoji on a post insinuating someone was a sex worker. Is that banter or personal insult?

Does it occur to you that I may have been amused by @shep's quick response, rather than the actual content?

Am I to assume that you 100% approve of every post which you "like", or, is there a sliding scale?

Do we need "little like", "like", "big like", "smile", "laugh", "belly laugh" emojis?

I'd like to point out that I don't have a problem with sex work, freely entered into, and carried out in a safe respectful and unexploitative manner.

Sadly that's fairly rarely the case.

But I don't believe either the joker , nor the one who found it amusing meant anything other than offence.

I'm really glad I've never had to resort to sex work to keep body and soul together

I'm really sad that others should find the predicament of those who do, in any way shape or form amusing..

Ditto. Freedom of choice, as long as it's a genuine choice.

I think that to give you a genuine answer as to how I feel about the matter would run the risk of making me appear a hypocrite, given my recent plea for civil discourse.

Find it hard to believe you cannot express yourself civilly... but... I am sure you know your own strengths and weaknesses better than I do.

Do any of us know our strengths and weaknesses, or do some of us just pretend we do? Answers, in no more than 1000 words, must be in by tomorrow.

You cannot really expect people to not take a laughing emoji as anything other than a like (or possibly ridicule) for the post, no matter what the contents of the post. It is not a neutral sign.

We had all of this months ago, I explained my reasoning...... people may or may not agree, as with many things .........

The post was bang out of order. Your response to it was bang out of order. Like I said yesterday, I get that you're a contrarian, I put that in the realm of banter, much as you may deny its very existence, but that was overstepping the line.

OK, so you disagree with me... I can live with that. As for being a contrarian, that is your label, you have applied to me.

I know and accept that.

But you must accept that people may, reasonably, not see it as neutral.

Perhaps we need a "This emoji means absolutely nothing" emoji. But there already is a solution for that.
