Something nasty in the woodshed
Saw this. It's a tardigrave. The evolutionary end point of conservative MPdom, on which they are all converging. Blind, a mouth indistinguishable from an anus, well padded, gammon coloured, and with many hands the better to grope, cling to power and heap up coin into piles of tax avoidant wealth.

I'd watch what I say about tardigrades, if I were you. Me, well - I for one welcome our new near-invulnerable invertebrate overlords.

The Labour Shadow-chancellor is married to a DWP Director General who is pushing through changes.

Hardly the party of the vulnerable and less well off eh?

He’s a civil servant. He doesn’t make policy.
But you knew that.

Johnson is standing in front of Parliament today.
He’s already trying to control the narrative around the parties but seems to gloss over the fact that his biggest crime isn’t the party, it’s the lying to Parliament about the party.
I’ve already heard them mention Nicola Sturgeon’s mask mistake, as if it’s in any way comparable.

It's a 'look over there' technique. You still get his defenders latching on to the 'yebut look at Starmer with the drink in his hand - it's the left-wing press lying to us' thing. Deflecting blame onto anything resembling a scapegoat.

Passengers might well spot a rabbit over on the side of the road. A sensible driver would focus on the car crash up ahead.
