This is hopefully the first of many threads of criminal investigation into the Tory exploitation of a public health crisis.

Tory peer Michelle Mone's home has been raided by police investigating a firm for £203 million of Covid PPE government contracts, it has been claimed.

Lady Mone, 50, is believed to have been present at an address that was searched by officers from the National Crime Agency, who raided homes and offices in London and the Isle of Man.

Lady Mone has a £25million estate on the Isle of Man, as well as a home in Belgravia. It is unclear which address police visited.
Officers are said to have been searching for documents that could assist an inquiry into suspected fraud offences. No arrests are believed to have been made.
The Isle of Man police confirmed that it took part in co-ordinated raids on Wednesday.

So far not a hint of it on BBC or ITV news sites.
Jo Maugham, GLP, has tweeted that he was on BBC Radio Scotland at 8:45am this morning to talk about PPE fraud. From his tweets I gather the Daily Mirror did cover the story.

Yes, I heard him on my way in to work. It appears this shower of Tory shysters bought five years' supply of equipment at five times the normal price! Billion upon billions of pounds that were funnelled to chums and now we're having to suffer for it. Words cannot express the contempt I have for this government.

This police raid on the home of a sitting peer for multi-million pound fraud ought to be a main news story, if not front page. Yet there's nothing on the landing pages of the BBC's UK, England or Scotland sites. Not even a mention on the Isle of Man section where the raid took place.🤔

Is it that corruption is business as usual for the Tories so no big deal, is it suppression of bad coverage, or something else?

A mixture of the first 2, I think.

The Guardian has managed to catch up; this is listed as its ''most viewed'' article: https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news..._source=Twitter&utm_medium#Echobox=1651239463

"Mr Johnson's press secretary insisted that the Tories did not have a problem with misogyny and sexism". Which appears to be true, though not in the way they meant it.
What's the betting that Johnson's promise is no more than a future lie?

Yeah, Mr Johnson, us chicks are really that dumb..

He is my MP. Is it okay to refer to him as a Tory tosser now?

When I heard he was chair of Defra and out west, I immediately thought of you. It's not clear whether he's going to relinquish his chair, get it removed, or whether ''the terrors of the Earth'' won't touch him at all.

Probs sidelined for a bit, before quietly taking up his seat in the Lords, in respect of 'services rendered'

🤥

Couldn't possibly comment, as he's only my 'adjoining' MP..

Not the most prepossessing figure at the best of times.

I see that the Commision of Inquiry into the British Virgin Islands has recommended direct rule from Westminster because of ''... the distribution of grants by members of the House of Assembly, where the Commissioner concludes that corruption, abuse of office or other serious dishonesty may have taken place in recent years''

Corruption, abuse of office, serious dishonesty. Can anybody see any problem with direct rule from Westminster?
