Funny how Texas are anti gun control and pro life.
How do they square that circle?

The lives are only important until they are born. After that they don't matter.

Or

It's about religion. Religion doesn't have to make sense.

The gist is that the US evangelicals were relaxed about abortion in the 1960s and much more concerned to defend racial segregation in churches.
Maybe they have realised that they have lost the racism battle, and needed something else to get het up about.

States Likely to Ban Abortion
An additional four states have political composition, history and other indicators—such as recent actions to limit access to abortion—that show they are likely to ban abortion as soon as possible without federal protections in place.

Florida—In 2021, the state legislature attempted to ban abortion at 20 weeks of pregnancy and an effort to adopt a Texas-style six-week ban was publicized. In April 2022, a 15-week abortion ban was enacted that is scheduled to go into effect in July.
Indiana—In the past decade, the legislature has enacted 55 abortion restrictions and bans, paving the way for a comprehensive ban.
Montana—For the first time in nearly a decade, new abortion restrictions were enacted in 2021, including restrictions on medication abortion and abortion at 20 weeks of pregnancy. (These restrictions currently cannot be enforced due to a court order.)
Nebraska—Although not one of the most prolific states on enacting abortion restrictions, it was the first to adopt a 22-week ban (in 2010), and in 2020, enacted a ban on the standard method for abortion after 15 weeks

Without any detailed analysis it looks to me as if strongest anti-abortion states are among the highest in gun ownership.

Pro-life is a very flexible concept, it seems.

Pro-life is a very flexible concept, it seems.

It's zero to do with pro-life, as evidenced by all other legislation and US social policy.

If they were 'pro babies and kids' there would be good quality child support, free maternity care, reproductive health care, parental leave, and long term support for parents, quality free education education etc etc..

And proper control of things that harm women and children eg violent men, and guns ...

But it's not about pro life, it's all about pro control and coercion of women - by violent means if necessary..

Always has been, always will be..

I wonder what would happen if *all* the women of the US went on sex strike .

Just pleasured each other - in private of course..

How long before the whole thing got revoked.??
