Home Office reclassifies modern slavery as illegal immigration issue

The Home Secretary is really an obnoxious shoot isn't she?

This was one of the few good things Theresa May actually did, and to be fair to May, it was clearly something that she passionately wanted to make a difference on this.

Clearly, that is all a bit too wokey, trying-to-be-nice nonsense and not in keeping with the image she is cultivating.

Absolute horror-show of a human.

Nothing to see/inspect here, move along...

They really do cherish transparency and accountability don't they?

Utterly despicable....

This is one or the things I and many others warned would be coming down the road if we left the EU and were left to the whims of the Tories.

And to all those. "I'm alright Jack" types, I say....

First they came for the Communists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Communist
Then they came for the Socialists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Socialist
Then they came for the trade unionists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a trade unionist
Then they came for the Jews
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Jew
Then they came for me
And there was no one left
To speak out for me

Of course they haven't forgotten Manston, thats exactly why they've done this.

But they'll doubtless get another round of applause from the rwnj little inglanders, press and supporters.

Change has got to come surely.

I know so many people are struggling just to keep their heads above water, and at the same time civil resistance doesn't seem to be something we 'Brits' do much (enough?) of, but just how far is this going to go before we act more collectively against this awful awful administration.

It feels like the boiling frog phenomenon.

If further evidence was needed of our downfall under the Tories....

In the "staying classy" section of Suella Braverman's career, she got called out on her language by an 83 year old Holocaust survivor. Who also got a MBE for her work on Holocaust education.

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2...ocaust-survivor-for-calling-migrants-invasion

When challenged on her rhetoric around immigrants and refugees, Braverman refused to apologise but fell back on the well used line that her parents were immigrants. The relevancy of this fact to Braverman's use of language seems to elude me. Using rhetoric that could even be challenged in this way when you are Home Secretary shows how totally unfit she is for any position of power.
