I have experienced that before, back in the nineties when internet was just a new thing they called my grandma at thinking it was my employer, being an wo2 survivor and having taking part in the resitantce/sheltering jews it goes without saying that person got a ''warm'' reception. But ever since i realized the importance off usernames and making sure you're not to easily traceable online.

Abortion ban considerations and compulsion aside, period tracking for athletes does seem to be a surprisingly recent development. I had assumed that it would be taken into consideration as part of the training regime. Jessica Ennis-Hill has said that she felt uncomfortable discussing her menstrual cycle with her trainer but now she trains around her period and has launched an app which enables women to exercise in different ways depending on which phase they're currently in. It seems odd to me that it wasn't that way when she was competing, I mean it's got to affect your performance, right?

Unacceptable obviously but not really relevant to the discussion on admitting males into the female sports category. I presume you think it's relevant or you wouldn't have quoted your previous post.
According to a news link in that Twitter feed, Florida has asked the questions about periods for 20 years. It's an optional question, but the difference now being you fill the form in online and the data is held by a third party, which would perhaps make it accessible to the authorities re pregnancy/abortion if they wanted.

I think there was an interview with Paula Radcliffe's coach where he said 'She did really well ... especially considering she was on her period'. I'm in awe of women and girls who can perform at a high level in sports whilst on their period. The fact that Wimbledon still insists on women wearing white shows how little consideration they give women on this issue.

It will massively affect your performance. Incredible really that sports will pump millions into making a bike that weighs a few grams less or into devising a diet for optimum performance but don't put the same effort into devising ways to mitigate the negative effects of the menstrual cycle. Perhaps they do but we don't hear about it because periods are still a bit taboo.
I know lots of elite athletes with low body fat don't have periods, and you can take meds that postpone your period, but I'd be interested to know if it's just something women athletes develop their own way of dealing with or if it's a specialist field of study now.

Here's Ennis-Hill talking about it, and also contributions from some sports scientists who seem to suggest that there's been very little research done on the subject which again, I find quite surprising. In a competitive world of marginal gains I would have thought that the natural cycle which an athlete's body goes through was a very obvious thing to try to optimise. It also seems a bit unfair to me if you're in a competition and for reasons of biology find yourself at a disadvantage on that particular day, but I guess to sort that out would require a huge change to the way that competitive sport is organised and presented.

It's not as if I haven't made my views on abortion perfectly clear in the past. But the effect of the menstrual cycle in sport, and the resources put into training, is an interesting subject in and of itself.

It is - I didn't mean to be dismissive. I have a friend who is a very good triathlete and coach, and she is all over this stuff. But women, athletes or not, have been ditching their period trackers en masse. You can't have a serious conversation about the benefits of training to a cycle when you've no bodily autonomy.
