Blimey, all that just to say you don’t know?

With all the waffle and the bad punctuation, your editor must have knocked back almost everything you wrote!

So do you have any reply?

Thought not.

Never expect any sense from a Scotsman.

I doubt editorial standards were very high on the Hartlepool Advertiser

Again, no answer.

Never expect any sense from a fool.

As soon as the gammon have died off we might have some chance to catch up with the rest of Western Europe, socially and environmentally.

Regrettably for you, there are plenty of little piglets who will be grown up gammon soon enough.

The readership of those beastly newspapers the Daily Mail and The Sun is relatively young.

And if this country is so far behind everywhere else, why don't you move elsewhere?

At least then you would be in the more appropriate position of being outside the tent pissing in.

What do you mean by 'from'? As in have travelled via those countries? Then yes, with the caveat that I doubt many come via Ireland.

And bearing on what? The UK has an obligation to accept people seeking asylum. If the UK refuses then so could Turkey, Jordan, Germany, Italy, France and so on, and we would have no asylum system.

I mean "from" as is the place they are fleeing eg Afghanistan, Syria, etc

I am actually a supporter of a good workable Asylum system. But I recognise that many are not, if those against are to be convinced, spouting half baked "truths" is not helpful.

You know, I used to think there was no such thing as a stupid question.

see above

The word you've missed was tend.....

OK, nit-pick my O level English

Never expect any sense from a fool.

Not as much of a fool as the fool who doesn't understand what is being said to him.

Maybe if I wrote in big font, bolding the important words, and making sure the vocabulary was simple you'd have a fighting chance.

Regrettably for you, there are plenty of little piglets who will be grown up gammon soon enough.

The average age of the Daily Mail readership is 57.

The average age of the UK adult population is 40.

You might want to revisit that notion

The readership of those beastly newspapers the Daily Mail and The Sun is relatively young.

56 is now "relatively young".

And if this country is so far behind everywhere else, why don't you move elsewhere?

I wondered if you would post this absolute nugget of utter stupidity and you didn't disappoint.

Right, I'm off out for the day. I'll leave the rest of the forum to groan at your pathetic demeanour.

It is for newspapers, every one battles an elderly readership.

I wondered if you would post this absolute nugget of utter stupidity and you didn't disappoint.

It's a fair question, you do nothing other than bleat and moan about all aspects of living in this country.

If I was that unhappy with it, I'd have left years ago.

Why don't you?

The first part of your statement is a false premise which means everything after it is pointless

Those on here who relentlessly persecute anyone with a different view have always been the same posters who claim to look out for the interests of the persecuted.

....
Unless the persecuted on is the partner of Mason Greenwood, then the same people are advocating actions that will harm her and her families future....oh sorry, in this case she falls into the first category as someone with a different view to them

fark me. Grow a pair

It's a simple observation, which as a long time contributor to the various NACA boards you know to be true.

Did you think you’d asked me a question?

You’re the guy making a claim that you can’t support, something which you criticise others for. I believe it’s called hypocrisy, another word you like to bandy about (with no sense of irony).

Or, to put this in your own words:
A bold assertion that you cannot stand up.

I’ll remind you; “Please explain what the government has done to make the UK the most desirable country in the world for asylum seekers.”

Should be easy enough for you. A decent hack would be able to cover the topic in under 200 words and, crucially, leave nothing out.

I've already told you.

You, presumably, don't agree, but I can't get any rational response out of you.

Never underestimate the denseness of a Scotsman.

The vast majority of refugees globally – four out of every five – stay in their region of displacement, and consequently are hosted by developing countries. Turkey now hosts the highest number of refugees with 3.7 million, followed by Colombia with 1.7 million.

Worldwide, roughly 85%  of all refugees live in developing regions , not in wealthy industrialised countries, and 73% of refugees displaced abroad live in countries neighbouring their countries of origin.

Top 10 Countries Hosting the Highest Number of International Refugees (mid-2021 data):

  1. Turkey — 3,696,831
  2. Jordan — 3,027,729
  3. Uganda — 1,475,311
  4. Pakistan — 1,438,523
  5. Lebanon — 1,338,197
  6. Germany — 1,235,160
  7. Sudan — 1,068,339
  8. Bangladesh — 889,775

I've already told you.

Your perspective on Asylum is skewed by having swallowed whole the narrative that they're 100 economic migrants looking for a good life in the UK.

As a result you've got your eye glued to the wrong end of a telescope with a lens cap on it!!

Tacking slightly your way the terms refugee and economic migrant are not mutually exclusive....

An Afghan with a 100% claim to refugee status might have come here because he knows people and can make a living...

Let's pretend they are all grievously persecuted persons genuinely seeking asylum.

Does that make processing them any quicker or easier?

Not much, I would suggest, given that many of the same inquiries still have to be made.

Although if one or two turned up with identification that would be a useful innovation.
