Why not open the coal mines again ? Boost the economy in Wales in the process.

Wales wasn’t the only coal mining area, but, although, as a child, I enjoyed “playing” on the spoil heaps, I wouldn’t want to see any of my children or grandchildren working “down the pit”, thank you.

It’s a bloody good movie I re-watched it a few months back and still enjoyed it.

Bullshit. Whatever your beliefs about the wider geopolitics, in this case it’s the Russians that decided that causing misery by bombing and invading a neighbouring country was the right thing to do.

War is very rarely the right answer.

Who would you think is for this renewed push for fracking ? Wouldn't be anyone with a vested interest...maybe the likes of Steve Baker amongst others. Id be suprised if he hasn't a few 'intrests' in fracking companies.

In fact asking someone who spent a lot of time protesting against this ,it was more like 50 odd earth tremors in a year near Blackpool when Quadrilla were drilling.

I'll type this very slowly using simple words so you stand a chance of reading it all.................

I am not in favour of fracking either for safety reasons or fossil fuel environmental reasons.

This does not stop me being aware that this might be pushed by some people under the current circumstances with Russia, especially under a Tory government where money counts.

Unlike you, I do not close my ears or my mind to the possibility that bad things can happen.

Tend to agree with much of that. I have actually been there (Russia and Ukraine), true, it was 30 years ago, but, it was an enlightening experience.

I stopped travelling to Russia only a few years ago, before that I was there regularly over a 10year or so period. Had just started a project in Ukraine and was due to be there in the next weeks...ho-hum.

There's nodoubt that travelling and spending time in a country gives you an insight into how it ticks..

One thing I will not talk about is what will happen militarily in Kyiv. Anybody on here who says they know are just guessing.
I genuinely cannot read the mind of Putin, but suspect he's losing the plot and is worried about losing face because it has not been as easy as he thought/said it would, and think we should all be just a little bit worried, especially the poor Ukrainians and any neighbours of Russia.
