Indeed. But I remember Aden which makes me think it was after the National Service era.

Oh, could be, I was just too young for Conscription, just remember Aden being mentioned on news in my childhood.

It looks like the Ukraine special forces have undertaken a successful covert operation deep in Crimea to blow up the main bridge.
No reports of missiles so it has to be explosives attached to the bridge.

It's both interesting and worrying to consider how Russia are going to react to the bridge demolition.

Their army has been shown to be pretty useless and Putin comes across as the kind of guy who doesn't take defeat with particular grace. It does seem like using a WMD is a realistic possibility, but considering the general incompetence of his exploits in Ukraine, he'd probably make an arse of things and turn the Kremlin into a crater.

We can but hope, assuming he is actually in the Kremlin, at the time.

Reports that Ukraine has attacked and destroyed a train refueling station and good yards at Ilovaisk. This is a major junction point for logistics coming in from the North without using the Kerch bridge. It is rumoured that it also was a location for newly mobilised russian troops.

It appears that Ukraine are attempting to shut down the major supply routes to the Southern / Kherson region before mobilisation brings in further Russian troops.

Putin has appointed Sergei Surovikin as overall commander for the Ukraine war today also. I assume some senior military personnel will be clumsily falling out of windows over the next few days. Surovikin has notoriety with his actions in Syria and spent time in jail for corruption and theft.

The opinions are divided between an explosion from underneath or atacms rockets(well a single one, but no one seems to find the official truck reading credible.(if you look at the video's the truck has already past before the explosion.)

They claimed Belogorod was attacked by Ukraine a few times, if you look at available footage you see it's there rocket launcher misfire causing it, the same type of launcher they used for their ''tactical'' nuclear so yes Moscow cratering itself seems like a really possabilty, alttough they would'nt fire it near Moscow.

Ukraine is giving them a masterclass in military strategy, they are rumored to have enough forces to start a third offensive going to Metropol, that would close Kherson off supplies (almost)completely. They are however also masters in information war, so it could be a other trick. just as the Karkiv offensive was helped by Ukraine fueled information war that they where going for Kherson.

Putin has done so bad his only aim is now ww3.

Only that way he gets to hang onto power in Russia.
No he claims that mainly to appease those in his own country, but if their army get's beaten by a much smaller army with only a few Nato hardware.. how will he have a chance in a WW3 conflict? He might have Iran and such as allies but China already opted out.

But Russians love to fantasies how they can level the us and uk with nukes, totally forgetting that both the uk, us/nato will watch them, they won't have the chance to launch an nuclear missile especially not one with the range of getting close to either the us or uk. (separate from the fact that claimed Russian range is something else than actual range.)
