With the Fat Owl of the Remove's speech comparing the British and Ukrainian people's struggles for freedom still foetid in the mind, are we seeing a slide to WWIII?
The EU and Russia versus the UK and Ukraine.
Would Bunter and cabal hanging upside down from lamp posts - while the European Parliament settles into Westminster - be consolation for plucky Ukraine being devoured by Putin's Russia?
Statesmanship is tricky stuff.

It looks like Russia are now taking political prisoners.
The most famous US women’s basketball player has been detained on drug charges.

I expect if it had been a male player, you'd have noticed the report way back on March 16
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-60701050 ;-)

It's actually possible this had nothing to do with Ukraine:

"Following Russia's invasion of Ukraine on 24 February, the EuroLeague suspended all Russian teams and US and WNBA officials began calling players out of the country. But it was too late for Brittney Griner, who is believed to have entered Russia one week earlier, on 17 February, though the timing remains unclear.

The Russian Federal Customs Service said in a press release that a sniffer dog had led authorities to search the carry-on luggage of an American basketball player and that it had found vape cartridges containing hashish oil. A state-owned Russian news agency, Tass, identified the player as Ms Griner."

It could be however, it's not like Putin woke up on the 24th of FEb and thought ''let's invade'' it was planned ahead, so this could be either way.
But as a us citizen it the worst possible time to be arrested in Russia
I remember this at that time as well, in fact had it not been posted on this thread nearer the time?
it was

You know a war is going well when you lose a fleet's flagship while fighting a country without a navy

The ship was almost 40 years old and built in Ukraine.
Russia are clearly not as powerful as they try to project and are leaving themselves extremely vulnerable.
Apart from fossil fuels, Nukes and crime against humanity they don’t seem to have much to offer the world.
